Young, who starred in last summer's Shakespeare/Santa Cruz productions of Titus Andronicus and The Comedy of Errors, will visit UCSC in May as Cowell College's 1989 Distinguished Minority Professional. The professional program, started in 1985 by Cowell Provost John Lynch, has brought artist Robert Blackburn, actor/ musician Daniel Valdez, writer Michelle Cliff, and legislator Michael Woo to the campus in previous years. Young has many years of experience acting in theater, film, and television. Perhaps his single most famous role was Jackie in Risky Business. This past year he has appeared as Antony in Antony and Cleopatra at Shakespeare Repertory in Chicago and as Herald Loomis in August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone at Center Stage in Baltimore. He also starred in the film Hard Rain with Tom Selleck and F. Murray Abraham and completed several episodes of "L.A. Law."
