STUDENTS NEED ON CHANCELLOR'S
COMMITTEES
Deadline for Application: Oct. 17
Applications available in Lorraine's
office (room 271).
There are a few student positions
left to be filled on campus-wide committees. Serving on these boards is
a good chance to, with other students,
administrators, and faculty members,
become involved in some aspect of
university life.
The committees needing placements are:
1) The Reg fee committee that dispenses a budget of no less than $1.8
million.
2) A committee to discuss registration
affairs.
3) The Bookstore Selection Committee
--a contract renewal debate is coming
up with the Follett Corporation.
4) Health Services--does the health
center meet student needs?
5) Food Service--is there an alternative to PFM?
6) The Education Abroad Program--
applicants must be returnees from the
program.
Applications should be turned into
Lorraine's office no later than 12:00
Friday the 17th. Selections will then
be made by the Committee of Campus
Representatives.
Committee of Campus Representatives (CCR)
The Committee of College Representatives, which is the outline if not yet
the reality of a campus-wide student
voice, met on Tuesday for the second
meeting of the year. Because most
colleges are still organizing their
student governments, of the 25 students present few were acting in the
capacity (cont'd on page 3)

If you would like to register to vote
call Patty at 426-7926 evenings or
leave me a note in Box 5, College
Eight. I'm on campus five days a
week and will try to make it convenient for you to register. If you
didn't vote in the '74 general
elections or have moved you should
re-register.
SPORTS
Dorothy McClelland is the Activities
Resource Person for College Eight
this year. She has all the information about the recreation and intramural programs at the Field House.
She will be in the College Eight
Lounge on Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00
p.m. if you need to talk with her.
She can also be reached by leaving
a message in Box #316.

ATTENTION CARTOONISTS
We would like to hire a cartoonist
to help us develop some visual
materials for two biology courses
at UCSC. We have in mind someone
with imagination, who cartoons in
the contemporary underground komix
style. A background in biology is
useful, but not essential. The
assignment will involve a willingness
to understand biological concepts
and to caricature them effectively,
however bizarre the final product.
At this point we would like to meet
with interested artists, see their
work and discuss payment. Please
contact us at our offices and extension numbers listed below.
