STAFF COMMITTEE ON
COMMITTEES ELECTION
The Staff Committee on Committees election
is now in progress. Ballots have been
sent by campus mail to all staff career
employees (excluding University Management
Program personnel). Three employees will
be elected to serve terms ending in
December 1981. The nominees are: Dennis
Artman, Mark Bevington, Cheryl Connolly,
Marti Edwards, Linda Foley, Tom Graves,
Roberto Garcia, Lawrence Maxcy, Juanita
Nama, Sharyn Pannell, Kathy Powers-Ceresa,
Lester Rate, and Richard Vasquez.
To be counted, each ballot must be submitted in a sealed envelope, with the typed
or printed name and signature of the voter
on the flap side, and received in the
office of the Vice Chancellor—
Administrative Affairs, 205 Central Services, by 5 p.m., Wednesday, December 19.
If you are a staff career employee and
have not received your ballot by Friday,
December 7, you may have one sent to you
by calling Administrative Affairs, X2196.
TAKE CLASSES FOR FUN—OR
A DEGREE—THE ACADEMIC
RE-ENTRY OFFICE TELLS HOW
Staff members who would like to take
courses for personal interest or for
credit towards a degree can get counseling
through the Academic Re-Entry Office in
McHenry Library, X4C57.
Olga Euben and Rudy Hernandez are available throughout the day (including the
lunch hour) to discuss the various educational options that are open to staff.
Full-time employees who have been here at
least six months pay a reduced fee for
courses, approximately one-third of the
regular fee. There are other plans for
staff members who have been here less than
six months, or who are not full time.
Pat Digman or Helen Hall can explain
summer session enrollment; Euben or Hernandez cover concurrent enrollment and the
part-time degree program; and Linda Milton
or Joanne Cannon are the people to contact
for reduced fee enrollment and other kinds
of staff development courses.
